Relationships

Relationships are a key part of our lives. They can be complex and fulfilling but that doesn’t mean they’re easy to navigate. When we encounter complex relationships with ourselves or others, it can be difficult to know where to turn.

How we see ourselves in relationship to ourselves or others is hugely important to our outlook.  Marital or relationship difficulties also bring a sense of loss and sometimes disappointment.  In any relationship when we feel our needs are not being met it can bring disharmony to the relationship.  Where there has been an affair, the impact on the sense of betrayal can leave you feeling at an impasse on how to work through this difficult experience and survive as a couple.  Even if there has been no affair you can feel like the relationship has stalled or changed in such a way that you do not have a sense of what your relationship is about anymore.  Do you lack intimacy in your relationship?  Do you experience conflict in your relationship?  All of these impact on how we feel, how we experience, what we believe about ourselves.  Changes to family situations, such as children moving out, or responsibilities for vulnerable family members, can also impact marital relationship and leave you wondering what your relationship looks like with the changes these events bring.

Sometimes relationship issues are not regarding romantic relationships.  I also work with relationship difficulties regarding other family members such as adult children, parents or siblings, either with you as an individual or with the family member concerned.
